The Chethallur Service Co-operative Bank was started working on 21st NOV 1950 in Thachanattukara Grama Panchayath in Palakkad district. The bank is going on with great progress. The bank is providing maximum facilities to the customers. The working area of the Bank covering ward 1 to 16 ward of the Thachanattukara Grama Panchayat. The area measured 35.04 Square kilometers and have 8127 families residing there. Bank was started in me 1950 and working since then comfortably. The audited accounts of the bank as on, 31.03.2020 reveals the shareholder’s strength as 40250. It is a “class 1 ” Bank and one of the leading co-operative institutions in Palakkad district. In the beginning, The bank was caring farmers in general and coconut, banana, paddy farmers, in particular,
and as such, Today the Bank is capable of meeting all financial needs of the people, agricultural and nonagricultural. Now the Bank is the ultimate point for the solution of each and every need of the people of Thachanattukara grama panchayath and therefore, it is widely seen as a great umbrella and shadow tree to the people of this area. It has contributed more to the economic development of the area and the Bank has the capacity and capability. It has many years of experience to ascertain the problems and offer solutions. Long-standing experience and a wide service delivery system can be read from past history. Now it is part of History.
